Summer's Coming!

Sorry that the posts have been slow in coming. In addition to not having a lot of leisure time anymore, there have been some technical difficulties making it hard to post pictures.
Matthew and Thomas are doing great. They both love school and have made many friends. Having been home just over 3 months, it's amazing all they have learned. They figured out pretty early on that it was useless trying to communicate with Mama and Papa in Ukrainian, so they have been picking up English very quickly. In fact, they even speak English to each other. Since Thomas is so young and his language skills were not as fully developed, he seems to really be taking off with his English. We can't help but be taken aback when he says things like "Look at that, over there" or "You found it!". When we were leaving a party a couple of weekends ago, Matthew said to one of the other guests, "Nice to meet you."

The boys thoroughly enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday and Matthew keeps talking about how he will be marching in a parade one day soon and will be sure to throw lots of candy our way. Other big news in our house is that Mama returned to work this week, part-time. After 16 weeks of family leave, it felt good to get back to a bit of my former life. It's great seeing all my friends and colleagues at Aetna again, too.

Wow, I have been having soooo much fun looking at your blog! We also adopted from Khmelnitsky using Serge & Marina & Rostik!! We left for Ukraine the day that you arrived home back in the states, so we just missed you. It looks like you also stayed in the Hotel Podillia! And you met Ivanka!! Ha, isn't she adorable? We just loved her, even if she was a diva. ;) We really fell in love with Khmelnitsky, even though our first impressions were the exact same as yours... so grey and drab and dirty. But it grew on us. I hope it's okay that I have stolen TONS of your pictures. LOL! You have sooo many that I never got around to taking. Especially the ones of Marina, we hadn't gotten any good ones of her. And I love the one of Rostik too. :) There was one picture that I tried to "steal" but it wouldn't enlarge for me. It was the one picture that I think my daughter might have been in because she was in a different groupa than your children. Could you email it to me pleeeaaaassse??? And do you have any good ones of Serge? Oh, and thank you for the picture of that guy from the Lemon Cafe. We just LOVED him! I'm so glad that your adoption went so well. Congratulations!
